1. Acceptance

Using PetPin.app - browsing the map, signing in or publishing a report - means you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

2. About the service

PetPin.app is run by volunteers and is not a commercial project. There are no paid features, no advertising and no fees.

Donations are entirely voluntary, give no extra rights and are never required to publish or keep a report.

3. Data we collect

We only collect what the service needs to work:

• Your email address, PetPin account identifier and, if you use email link sign-in, the Firebase user identifier. We do not store a password.
• What you choose to publish: photos, description, pet details, contact phone number and the location you mark on the map.
• Access logs (IP address, date and time), kept for six months as required by article 15 of the Brazilian Internet Civil Rights Framework (Law 12.965/2014).

4. Your report is public

A published report - photos, description, phone number and map location - is visible to anyone on the internet and may be copied or indexed by search engines. Publish only a phone number you are willing to make public, and never publish someone else's personal data.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies only: one to keep you signed in and one to remember your language. We do not use advertising, analytics or third-party tracking cookies. If you block these cookies, signing in will not work.

6. Retention and deletion

Reports are stored for 180 days from publication and are deleted automatically after that.

You can delete a report at any time from your reports panel. When you delete a report, the report and its photos are removed from our servers and are no longer accessible.

Access logs are kept for six months because the law requires it, and are then discarded.

7. We do not share your data

We do not sell, rent or transfer your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for marketing.

Your browser requests map tiles directly from OpenFreeMap. Sign-in is handled by Google or Firebase Authentication, depending on the method you choose. We may also disclose data when a court order or a legal obligation requires it.

8. Your rights (LGPD)

Under the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Law 13.709/2018) you may request, free of charge:

• confirmation that we process your data, and access to it;
• correction of incomplete or outdated data;
• anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data;
• portability of your data, and information about who it is shared with;
• withdrawal of your consent and deletion of data processed under it.

9. Responsibility for content

You are responsible for what you publish and confirm that it is true and that you may share it. We may remove reports that are false, abusive, unrelated to pets, or that expose another person's data.

PetPin.app only publishes reports: we cannot guarantee a reunion and we are not a party to communications or agreements between users.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, and continuing to use the service means you accept it.
